Srinagar, June 3: A delegation of PHD Chamber Kashmir Chapter headed by its Chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya and Co-Chairman Baldev Singh Raina along with Mukhtar Ahmed Shah and Tariq Rashid Ghani visited the house of the local guide Late Rouf Ahmad Dar and  presented his family  with citation of Bravery and a cash Reward of Rupees 1 Lakh  from the PHD Chamber Kashmir.

The delegation met the family of the deceased martyr  and extended  deep sympathies  in this hour of greif. The PHD Chamber Kashmir presented a bravery award to his family for his meritorious act of bravery against all odds.

In an official statement Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya said, “We hail the valour exhibited by valley’s tourist guide Rouf Dar. Without caring for his own safety while rescuing the tourists from the fast-flowing water of the river he lost his precious life. We salute to this brave heart who is in a real symbol of ultimate sacrifice. We express our deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and pray for peace to the departed soul.”

While extending his condolences, Baldev Singh Raina Co Chairman PHDCCI Kashmir said , ‘ This young boy has taught us the true meaning of heroism. Rouf performed this selfless act without regard for his own safety and life. He has set an example of distinguished courage, bravery, and self-sacrifice.

We draw inspiration from such heroism of the fallen. These mundane acts which inspire us and desire to do good for the sake of the public. We salute this unsung hero of the Kashmir and pray for his departed soul.
