Srinagar, Jan 6: Another snow spell is likely to occur in most parts of Jammu & Kashmir this week.

While most parts of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh plains are likely to remain dry until Thursday, there is a good possibility of snowfall in some areas of the state even by Thursday, weather data analysis by Ziraat Times suggests. 

On Tuesday, Jan 8, precipitation is imminent across the Upper and Middle Himalayas, which would result in snowfall in parts on Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Doda, Margan Pass, Kolohai glacier area, Upper Dachigam, Baltal, Zojila Pass and parts of Gurez valley, Ziraat Times data analysis suggests.

Light snowfall is also likely in upper parts of Pirpanjal mountain range, including Pir Ki Gali, Tosa Maidan, Khilanmarg on Tuesday.

On late Friday and Saturday snowfall would be widespread across the areas falling in Upper, Middle and Outer Himalayas, including South Kashmir areas of upper Daksum, upper Kulgam, Margan Pass, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Doda, Upper Ramban, Upper Reasi and Upper Udhampur, according to Ziraat Times analysis.

Light to medium snowfall in several parts of Kashmir valley plains on Friday and Saturday is likely as well, including Sindh valley, lower karewa areas of Pirpanjal and areas in and around Srinagar.

On Saturday snowfall in Banihal Pass, Pir ki Gali, Gulmarg, Sadhna Pass areas, Razdan Pass, Upper Ladakh and most snow zones of Jammu region could be heavy.
