A young couple from Nepal, running a cafe near Florence Hospital, Chanapora, died in tragic circumstances when the scooter they were riding on met with an accident near Chanapora Police Choki Wednesday night.
The couple, namely Lok Chandra and Bishno, who had established their business with lot of hard work, are survived by two young children.
As soon as the news of their death reached Chanapora Thursday morning, most of the shops closed their business in respect and Muslim neighbors went to the hospital to help in medical formalities. Muslim neighbours also arranged the funeral, with a large number of Chanapora residents attending the couple’s cremation at Batamaloo Cremation Site Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, Chanapora residents and neighboring shop owners have appealed Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan and Deputy Commissioner, Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary, to grant a special compensation in favour of the couple’s children so that they are able to re-start their lives.

As per reports, the scooter the couple were travelling was hit by a speeding car. Police has seized the car and legal proceedings have been initiated.
