J&K Private Schools’ Association’s ambitious Mission 1 Million Trees in 5 Years  is all set to begin the the plantation of 500 trees from the Bilaliya Educational Institute, Khimber, Srinagar.

Held under the aegis of the Council of Moral Education, Environment and Relief (MEERC) of J&K Private Schools Association, the Sunday plantation marks the beginning of a large plantation campaign to be held in private schools across J&K in the coming five years.

G. N. Var, president of J&K Private Schools Association has said that the association plans to engage all of its network schools in the plan.

“This will be beginning of a new era”, Manzoor Wangnoo, patron of the initative told Ziraat Times, adding “our aim in to engage our students in not only plantation but also to upkeep of the planted tress. We dream is to make J&K a green and environmentally clean eco-system”.

The Sunday campaign at the Bilaliya Institute will begin with the plantation of conifer trees at 11 am. The venue is Bilaliya’s new campus at Khimber.

The plantation campaign is being conducted under the technical supervision of Mian Javed Hussein, IFS (Retd.)
