Srinagar, May 28: Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, KAS had a review of Horticulture sector Kashmir during a meeting at the Directorate of Horticulture Kashmir today.
During the course of meeting all the Chief Horticulture Officers were directed to identify the small and marginal farmers to be covered under high density plantation programme in next five years.
The issue regarding Farmers Interest Group willing to establish CA store(s) on cooperative basis was discussed in the meeting and it was impressed upon Chief Horticulture Officers of Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam, Baramulla, Kupwara & Bandipora to make a group of farmers and also registered such groups under Societies Act.
All Chief Horticulture Officers were directed to provide the list of orchardists uploaded on portal under PM-Kissan like name, land holding for establishment of High density orchards.
Chief Horticulture Officers were impressed upon regarding conducting training/awareness at Block/tehsil levels so that farming community is provided technical knowhow in the field of Horticulture.
Chief Horticulture Offices were directed to ensure frequent irrigation to root stock in departmental nurseries. Farm Manager Rajbagh was also directed to ensure irrigation and support system to high density plants planted in front of Directorate of Horticulture.
Director further directed all the Chief Horticulture Officers to address the issues of the growers raised by the orchardists in already created WhatsApp groups in respective Districts.
Joint Director Horticulture Kashmir, Deputy Director, Central, Assistant Director Horticulture Kashmir, Accounts Officer, Horticulture Kashmir and Chief Horticulture Officer of Kashmir valley as well as Farm Manager, ACHD Rajbagh/Zainapora, Horticulture Information & Publication Officer & Analyst, SALAL also attended the meeting.
