Srinagar, Nov 21: Ending an eventful day that created the prospects of a PDP-NC-Congress alliance government in Jammu & Kashmir, the state’s Governor Satya Pal Malik Tuesday evening dissolved the State Assembly.

Earlier PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti had claimed that Governor’s office was not receiving her fax, neither was he available on phone and, hence, [she had] sent the letter of claim on twitter.

In a tweet she said she was trying to send the fax to Governor House but nobody is responding.

PDP’s claim was followed by People’s Conference Chairman Sajad Ghani Lone also writing to the Governor, expressing his intent to form the government with BJP support.

Within minutes, however,  Governor Satya Pal Malik passed an order dissolving the state assembly.

The communication issued by the Raj Bhawan said: In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by Clause (b) of sub-section (2) of Section 53 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, by virtue of the powers vested upon me in terms of Proclamation No: P-1/18 of 2018 dated: 20th June 2018 issued under sub-section (1) of Section 92 and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by Clause (b) of seb-section (2) of Section-53 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, I hereby dissolve the Legislative Assembly”.
