Tangmarg: Second Annual Festival was held here on June 18,2019 as a self-help  public move to discover the untapped tourists destinations notwithstanding the ignorance of the govt in bringing and developing the meadows of southern hilly villages of Tangmarg viz Badrekoot, Khahal and Gogaldour  and many other spots in north Kashmir the locals here on Tuesday organized the second annual public festival this time at Ringawali habitation to  call the attention of the stakeholders towards these charismatic destinations.


Besides the native people who had come from different parts of Kashmir many tourists participated in the festival. The locals hosted the festival of their own.

Speaking on the occasion a tourist said while developing the area for tourism the stakeholders should not snatch the nature in the name of development and the area should be declared a pollution free zone.


The traditional folklore ‘Bandpather ‘was played on the occasion to keep the visitors in a smiling mood. Sub Divisional Magistrate Tangmarg Shabir Ul Hassan addressed the people on the occasion and spoke about the importance of the area and the potential it had for developing it as a tourist destination. He however said that such events should have been held in an organized manner so that state machinery could be invited to help conduct the program professionally. He thanked the locals for conducting the festival of their own to boost the tourism potential of their region.
