Srinagar, July 9: Dr Anjum Andrabi, Technical Officer General with Animal Husbandry Department, Kashmir, has become J&K’s first Livestock Advisor Certified by ICAR New Delhi and MANAGE Hyderabad after completing one- year training and assessment, including submitting a dissertation titled “Incidence of Parasitic Infestation in crossbred cattle of south Kashmir and effect of deworming and mineral supplementation on milk yield.” 

The certified livestock advisor program was started last year and among 22 candidates from all over India so far only three including Dr Anjum (other two from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra) have obtained the certification.

Mr Anjum was the first candidate in the whole of the country to be certified by these twin prestigious institutes.

The role of a certified advisor among other things is to guide new and existing farmers and entrepreneurs towards running their farms in a scientific and profitable manner.
