K. K Sharma is J&K State Election Commissioner, resigns as Advisor

Srinagar: Advisor to Lt Governor, Jammu & Kashmir, K. K Sharma has been appointed as J&K’s State Election Commissioner. He has resigned as Advisor to LG Sinha today.

Kewal Kumar Sharma (KK Sharma) is a 1983-batch retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. In November 2018, he was appointed as an advisor to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik. Following the creation of the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, he was the advisor to Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu and then the current Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

As Advisor, Mr Sharma was in-charge of Revenue, Planning Development and Monitoring, Industries & Commerce, School Education, Higher Education, Skill Development, Agriculture Production & Farmer’s Welfare and Horticulture departments
