UG aspirants allege wrong answers shown by varsity for 9 questions in entrance answer key

Srinagar: In the recent entrance test held by Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) for various admissions to Undergraduate courses, the varsity has allegedly shown nine wrong answers correct in the answer key.

The UG aspirants said that there were many such questions in the entrance test of which the SKUAST officials have reportedly shown wrong answers as ‘correct’ in the key.

One of the aspirants told news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the SKUAST in the answer key has stated that the source and transgens used in developing Bt cotton is cry-IAC and cry-11AB, which is not correct.

He said, “Out of total number of 135 questions, the answer for nine questions in the key is wrong.”

“It is ironical that the SKUAST has given the same options in one of the MCQ’s,” he said.

“Of the questions titled ‘For a particle in uniform circular motion, the acceleration A at a point P(R, θ) on the circle of radius R is (Here θ is measured from the x-axis)’, the SKUAST have given two similar options,” he said.

The aspirants urged the SKUAST authorities to rectify the errors and wrong answers shown in the answer key so that the deserving candidates won’t suffer in terms of evaluation.

According to the aspirants, the questions of which answers are shown wrongly in the answer key includes question number 3, 4, 5, 7,9,12,26 31 and 130th.

Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, Controller of Examinations SKUAST-K wasn’t available for his comments.

However, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K, Professor Nazeer Ahmed said the ‘SKUAST will not let aspirants suffer and will look into the matter’.

“The students can come up with the representation with regard to the issue so that SKUAST could resolve the issue,” h said. —(KNO)
